Personalisation Tags in Buttons – How to Stop URL Being Cut Off?

We’ve recently introduced the option for customers to track packages by clicking a ‘TRACK MY PARCEL’ button into the emails, but when pulling through the URL I’ve noticed Hubspot is redirecting customers towards the courier’s homepage rather than directly to the parcel.


For example, the URL is being populated with a link that could be something like:

trackingcompany.com/trackmyparcel/#123456

Which directs the customer directly to that specific shipment. This works when introducing the URL as plain text perfectly fine.

When trying to link from a button or an image, however, it seems like it’s only directing customers to:

trackingcompany.com/trackmyparcel/

So the customer still needs to manually enter their tracking ID on the website. Is there a way around this, or is this happening due to the way Hubspot is shortening/formatting URLs in the recipients’ inboxes?
